Yishi - Exercise 4: Circle/Rectangle Composition

1 comment:

  1. 1. The first composition is fairly balanced with a clear focused center. It is a closed composition, utilizes the entire space (although slightly heavy towards the right) and generally produced a mirrored composition.

    2. The second composition is wholly balanced, with an open composition and very little white space. The horizontal rectangle is nearly invisible but gives the allusion of another shape and opens up the shapes on the right hand side of the composition.

    3. Closed composition, but with a little too much white space on the bottom left hand side. Wholly balanced, especially with the contrasting effects of lack and excess.

    4. Open composition. The displaced circle acts as an interesting focal point, and contrasts nicely with the otherwise chaotic figures on the right -- giving the illusion of movement.
